2nd Annual Annual Milk And Bookies Story Time Celebration in Los Angeles – March 20

Not blinking an eye as she transitions into life as a single mother, Ashlee Simpson took young son Bronx out to the 2nd Annual Annual Milk And Bookies Story Time Celebration in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (March 20).

Recently separated from Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, the “Pieces of Me” singer made her way over to the Skirball Cultural Center venue while attending the good-hearted weekend get-together with her little one.

With other stars such as Jack Black, Rainn Wilson, Julie Bown, Josh Holloway and Jason Biggs in attendance, the Milk + Bookies event offers boy and girls “the opportunity to select, purchase and inscribe books that are then donated to their peers who do not have access to books of their own. The fun-filled events feature music, story time and, of course, milk and cookies.”

With the organization having been founded by Meredith Alexander in 2004, Milk + Bookies has the mission of “combining two essential and worthwhile efforts: literacy promotion and service learning. While the book donations are imperative to our mission, just as important is instilling the seed of giving into each host and their young guests, sparking feelings of importance, self-confidence and the desire to give and give again.”

Looking as if she may be gearing up to decorate a bachelorette pad, Ashlee Simpson spent the day browsing the offerings at a local furniture store in Los Angeles, California on Monday (March 14).

The newly single Hollywood mommy was accompanied by her mother, Tina, and young son, Bronx, as the trio rummaged around Lotus Home for possible new home decor purchases.

Having spent the weekend alongside ex-hubby Pete Wentz, Miss Simpson received nothing but praise from her former Fall Out Boy beau during a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest.

Wentz told the “On Air” host, “Ashlee’s been my best friend for five years. She’s the mother of my child, I have nothing but love and respect for her.”

He added, “Going through something like this isn’t easy,but we’re friends and the most important thing is to put our son first.”

At Taco Bell drive thru in Los Angeles – March 13

Ashlee Simpson and her estranged husband Pete Wentz were spotted grabbing fast food two days in a row this weekend.

On Saturday, they were photographed picking up grub at In-n-Out Burger in L.A., and then on Sunday they were spotted at a Taco Bell.

Last month, Simpson filed for divorce and just days ago Wentz sought joint custody of their son Bronx.

In light of this weekend’s two outings, Us Weekly asks, “Maybe this marriage can be saved . . . by burgers and burritos?”

Gossip Cop looked into this, and despite their back-to-back fast food dates, Simpson and Wentz are not getting back together.

A source close to Wentz tells us there’s “no reconciliation. They are just really committed to keeping it amicable and as normal as possible for Bronx.
