Singer Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has revealed that having to carry her baby boy upstairs helps her to keep in shape.
The Chicago star made her comments in local Los Angeles newspaper, the Daily News, in an article about celebrity fitness.
She said: “I have lots of stairs at my house and my son [Bronx] is 33lb now, so I carry him up the stairs a lot.”
Simpson-Wentz also revealed that carrying her 20-month-old son around is not the only way that she keeps trim.
She said: “I definitely hit the gym. I’ll do 30 minutes when he’s down for a nap. I’ll do 30 minutes of cardio and I also like a class called Cardio Barre [aerobic-ballet workout].”
The 25-year-old singer-turned-actress, who has admitted to battling anorexia as a teenager, said that these days she tries to be sensible when it comes to losing weight.
She said: “I just like to feel healthy and live a nice lifestyle. I don’t like to tell myself I can’t have something, so if I want cake I’ll eat in moderation…
“I don’t not allow myself to have things, because then it’s all a mind-game.”
